Casino Hold’em

Casino Hold’em Poker

Casino Hold’em is a very popular poker variant that is perfect for single players who are new to video poker as well as seasoned players looking for a classic poker experience. Unlike other video poker games, winning pay outs start with a hand as low as a pair of 4’s. Unlike other video poker games however, you are playing against the dealer. You aren’t simply trying to make the best poker hand you can to get a payout.

Casino Hold’em video poker is available online for free play or for real money wagering. It is played with a standard 52 card deck and Wild cards do not feature.

The First Round Of Casino Hold’em

Casino Hold’em starts like a standard community card poker game. You first must place a minimum ante wager on the table. Once this is done, the dealer will deal two cards to both himself and the player.

Another three cards are dealt to the table. These cards are known as community cards because they are in use for the players and the dealer. Based on your first two cards and the community cards you can either fold or give up your ante wager or you can call the bet and double your ante wager.

The Second Casino Hold’em Phase

Once the player has placed his call bet, the dealer will once again deal out two more cards, but this time add it to the community cards for a total of 5 cards on the table. Once completed the dealer shows his cards. The dealer must have at least a pair of 4’s. If not the player wins as long as he has a minimum of a pair of 4’s.

The Casino Hold’em Pay Table

Casino Hold’em has a fixed pay table but there may be variations between developer’s Casino Hold’em titles.

Depending on your wager amount, at the top of the heap is the Royal Flush as usual. This hand will pay around 100x your wager. The Straight Flush will pay 20x your wager. Four of a kind will pay 10x your wager, a full house 3x your wager, the flush has a 2x your wager pay out and finally a straight or anything less pays out at a 1 to 1 ratio.

The Origins Of Casino Hold’em

Casino Hold’em was first developed in the 90’s by Stephen Au-Yeung as a Texas Hold’em training tool. This explains the single player focus of the game while still taking into account community card poker rules and game play.

Casino Hold’em soon became very popular after exhibition games in 2000 and 2002. The nature of the game is ideal for the online casino industry as it is a fun and compelling single player experience that really helps develop your poker skills.
